The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE today announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N774 per litre. This represents a N25 per litre decrease from the previous rate of N799 per litre.
The adjustment, which takes immediate effect, was communicated to marketers and stakeholders via an official notice from the refinery's Group Commercial Operations Department. The statement reads: “This is to notify you of a change in our PMS gantry price from N799 per litre to N774 per litre.”
This strategic price recalibration comes amid evolving market dynamics in 2026, including fluctuations in global crude oil prices, import parity costs, and competitive pressures in Nigeria's downstream petroleum sector.
Industry analysts view the move as a proactive step by the refinery to maintain competitiveness, enhance market share, and support affordability for Nigerian consumers and businesses at a time when transportation and living costs remain a key concern.
The 650,000 barrels-per-day Dangote Refinery, Africa's largest single-train refinery, continues to ramp up production and supply of high-quality, locally refined petroleum products.
By consistently adjusting prices in response to market conditions, the refinery aims to reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported fuel, stabilize domestic supply, and contribute to broader economic relief.
Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has repeatedly emphasized the refinery's commitment to delivering value to Nigerians through reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant products.
This latest price slash underscores that dedication, following previous adjustments that have helped ease pump prices in recent months.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE is a state-of-the-art facility located in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
Designed to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, the refinery produces refined petroleum products including petrol (PMS), diesel, aviation fuel, and petrochemicals, meeting international standards and supporting Nigeria's energy security and industrialization goals.
