Akwa Ibom Women Endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Pastor Umo Eno for Re-election Ahead of 2027

In a powerful display of unity and support, thousands of women from across Akwa Ibom State have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office and Governor Pastor Umo Eno for re-election, ahead of the 2027 general elections.


The historic endorsement took place during the grand celebration of the 2026 International Women’s Day at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, which drew over 5,000 enthusiastic participants. The event was graced by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who also commissioned an ultra-modern Senior Citizens Centre in the state.


Led by prominent figures including Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Senator (Dr.) Akon Eyakenyi, and Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady in Akwa Ibom, Noble Lady Helen Eno Obareki, the women proclaimed their full support through a formal declaration. 


They hailed President Tinubu’s bold, reform-driven leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which has implemented decisive economic and structural reforms to stabilize the nation, strengthen public finances, and foster inclusive growth for all Nigerians.


The women also commended Governor Pastor Umo Eno for his compassionate, people-centered governance through the ARISE Agenda. 


They highlighted his superlative performance in key sectors, including agriculture, rural development, infrastructure expansion, security management, and educational advancement, noting that his leadership has brought unprecedented unity and progress to Akwa Ibom State.


The endorsement extended to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, praised for his legislative diplomacy, statesmanship, and contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions and global parliamentary cooperation.


Speaking at the event, Senate President Godswill Akpabio described the massive turnout as a clear testament to the strong political voice of Akwa Ibom women and their readiness to support President Tinubu’s return to office. He emphasized that the women’s endorsement reflects unwavering confidence in the leadership of both the President and Governor Eno.


Governor Pastor Umo Eno expressed deep appreciation for the women’s support, acknowledging their role in promoting inclusive governance and women’s development. He reiterated his commitment to continuing the transformative policies that have uplifted the state.


The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed delight at the overwhelming backing from Akwa Ibom women for her husband’s second term, alongside Governor Eno and Senate President Akpabio. She commended the state’s women for their vibrant participation and dedication to national and state progress.


This endorsement by the women of Akwa Ibom underscores growing momentum behind President Tinubu and Governor Eno as the 2027 elections approach, signaling strong grassroots support for continuity in visionary leadership at both federal and state levels.
