Senator Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor of Osun State and immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally withdrawn his lawsuit challenging the conduct and outcome of the party's governorship primary held in December 2025.
The suit, filed at the Federal High Court in Osogbo (Suit No. FHC/OS/CS/261/2025 – Senator Iyiola Omisore v. APC & Anor), had questioned aspects of the primary process, including the disqualification of several aspirants, including Senator Omisore himself, by the APC Screening Committee prior to the primary election that produced Chief Bola Oyebamiji as the party's consensus candidate.
In a statement issued by his campaign organization today, Senator Omisore confirmed the withdrawal, citing a commitment to party unity and the broader interest of strengthening the APC ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
"After careful consideration and extensive consultations with key stakeholders within the party, I have decided to withdraw the legal action. My primary goal has always been to ensure fairness, transparency, and justice within our great party. However, at this critical juncture, the unity and collective success of the APC in Osun State take precedence," Senator Omisore said.
He expressed appreciation to his supporters, legal team, and party members who stood by him throughout the process, while reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and its leadership.
"The APC remains the best platform to deliver good governance and meaningful development to the people of Osun State. I call on all party faithful to close ranks, support our candidate, and work tirelessly toward victory in the upcoming election," he added.
The withdrawal is expected to help resolve lingering internal tensions within the Osun APC chapter and foster a more cohesive front as the party prepares for the governorship poll.
Senator Omisore reiterated his dedication to the progress of Osun State and his readiness to contribute in any capacity toward the party's success.
