The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to unveil a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting the consumption and production of Made-in-Nigeria goods and services. The initiative, anchored under the Nigeria First policy, was announced by President Bola Tinubu during the fifth Adeola Odutola lecture hosted by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).

Represented by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Enoh, President Tinubu emphasized that the campaign is designed to revitalize the manufacturing sector, reduce import dependency, and stimulate job creation. “No country achieves sustainable development by relying on foreign goods. We must build confidence in our own products,” the President stated.

The campaign will be rolled out in phases, beginning with public awareness drives, strategic partnerships with manufacturers, and incentives for businesses that prioritize local sourcing. The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment will oversee implementation, supported by a six-point action plan that includes tax reliefs, infrastructure support, and export facilitation.

Senator Enoh noted that preliminary studies show the initiative could generate up to ₦3 trillion in economic value and significantly improve Nigeria’s trade balance. “This is not just a campaign—it’s a movement to reclaim our industrial future,” he said.

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria has welcomed the initiative, calling it a timely intervention to address structural challenges in the sector and build consumer trust in Nigerian brands.
