Delta Air Lines confirms that Delta Connection Flight 5087, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced a runway excursion upon landing at Des Moines International Airport on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft, arriving from Detroit, slid off the taxiway due to icy conditions caused by recent snowfall.

All 58 individuals on board, including 54 passengers, two pilots, and two flight attendants, escaped unharmed. Airport crews quickly evacuated everyone and transported them to the terminal via bus. Delta teams provided immediate assistance, including rebooking options and accommodations for disrupted travel plans.

"The safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority," said John Smith, Delta's Vice President of Operations. "We commend the quick actions of our flight crew and ground teams who ensured everyone's well-being during this incident. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers' understanding as we navigate challenging winter weather."

The incident prompted a temporary closure of the airport, leading to flight cancellations and diversions amid post-Thanksgiving travel. Operations resumed on Sunday, November 30, 2025. The Federal Aviation Administration has initiated an investigation, and Delta pledges full cooperation.
