The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed it is actively probing the circumstances surrounding the reported gunshot injury sustained by renowned Nigerian comedian, skit maker, and social media influencer Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi (also referred to as Broda Shaggy).
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State, while the entertainer was filming a comedy skit with his crew. Perry sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh and was immediately rushed by his team to a hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for initial medical attention, before being referred to another facility for further treatment.
Sources close to the matter indicate that the exact details of how the shooting occurred remain unclear at this stage, with no formal report yet lodged directly with the Ogun State Police Command. However, the Lagos State Police Command was alerted by the hospital where the victim was first received.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that detectives and a patrol team were promptly deployed to the facility upon notification.
"The hospital notified the police that a gunshot victim had been brought in. Our team visited and identified the victim as the skit maker and influencer known as Broda Shaggi. He was on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. While the incident location falls outside our jurisdiction in Sango-Ota, investigations are ongoing," Adebisi stated.
The Ogun State Police Command has initiated preliminary inquiries into the matter to establish the full facts, including the precise location, circumstances, and any individuals involved. Authorities are appealing for anyone with credible information to come forward to assist the ongoing probe.
