The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, First Series.
This marks another milestone in WAEC’s ongoing transition to fully computer-based testing for private candidates, following successful previous series. The examination was conducted between late January and mid-February 2026, in line with the official timetable that included core subjects such as English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and various languages and electives.
Candidates who sat for the exam can now check their results online via the WAEC result portal (www.waecdirect.org) using their examination number and the required access card or PIN. Results are also accessible through the WAEC Konnect app and other official channels.
WAEC has urged candidates to promptly verify their results and report any discrepancies or issues through the official complaints portal. As is standard, a small percentage of results may be withheld pending further investigation into alleged irregularities, while others could be under processing.
This early release of the first series results demonstrates WAEC’s commitment to timely feedback for private candidates, many of whom use the outcome for university admissions, job applications, or further studies.
Congratulations to all successful candidates! For those who did not achieve their desired grades, WAEC encourages registration for the next available series while continuing to prepare diligently.
